Hi, I'm Suzie. I was born and raised in Minnesota before relocating to Fargo, North Dakota. After completing a one-year Medical Secretary program at Moorhead Techinical College, I unexpectedly landed my first accounting job, as an Accounts Receivable Clerk, for an Office Supplies Retail Store through an employment agency. During that time, job opportunities in Fargo were scarce, so I had to accept whatever offer came my way. An Accounting position was not what I was thinking. Aside from basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, I struggled with math subjects like algebra and calculus in high school. I had no knowledge of accounting and lacked any previous experience, which left me feeling anxious and terrified for this new opportunity. I would have never pursued this kind of job if not for the employment agency finding it for me.
To my surprise, I caught on quickly and thrived in my position as an Accounts Receivable Clerk, finding genuine enjoyment in the work. After a few years, I transitioned to a new opportunity at a Heating, Ventilating & Air-Conditioning (HVAC) company as an Accounts Payable Clerk. Spending several years in this role, it ignited a passion for accounting, prompting me to return to school to earn a degree in Accounting.
After graduating from Minnesota State Community Colleges, I relocated from Fargo to Los Angeles, where I dedicated many years working for medium to small businesses as a Bookkeeper, Full-Charge Bookkeeper & working my way to Accounting Manager. My goal was to gain as much experience as possible. I also worked in Texas, before relocating to Tucson, Arizona where I have lived for many years. I've had alot of jobs in a wide range of industries like: Retail, HVAC, Export Logistics, CPA Firms (including a high end foresic accounting firm), Manufacturing, Wine Imports, Construcion, and E-commerce. While employers often frown upon job hopping on a resume, I've always believed that it would prove valuable eventually.
And it finally did. After working for employers for more than 25 years and delivering quality bookkeeping services, I grew tired of my hard work going unrecognized and unappreciated. Offering my expertise and knowledge, was often disregarded. Enduring constant challenges, trying to win favor, navigating obstacles, facing unjust criticism, and suppressing my frustrations have all contributed to my decision to start my own Bookkeeping Service.
As I embarked on this entrepreneurial journey, I felt a sense of liberation and excitement. I finanally have the opportunity to infuse my passion and expertise into a business that not only upholds principles of integrity, accuracy, and timeliness but also champions small businesses and individual entrepreneurs who, like myself, aspire to thrive independently. The freedom to innovate, the joy of seeing my clients succeed, and the satisfaction of building something of my own are worth every risk and challenge.
